International reserves management
The Bank of Russia undertakes operations with foreign exchange assets in the external market and operations with gold in the domestic market to manage international reserves.
In the external market, the Bank of Russia places deposits, buys and sells financial assets, arranges repo deals, carries out other transactions. In the domestic market, the Bank of Russia purchases precious metals.
